Rachael's Slumber Party!

Rachael had a "Halloween in January Slumber Party" for her 11th birthday. We pulled out the Halloween decorations and prepared for a fun night. Allen told the girls about a boy who stole Halloween candy from little kids... He was hit by a car and died just this morning. A friend who works at the hospital let us have a few of his parts for tonight's party. They are in the garage... One by one the blindfolded girls felt the skull (frozen soup bone), brain (cauliflower with catsup on it), eyeballs (large grapes in applesauce), heart (squishy orange in jello) and the guts (spaghetti with sauce). Then un-blindfolded to see what they were really feeling. They had a GREAT time! We also ate pizza, watched Nightmare Before Christmas, made stuff with shrinky dinks and listened to music. Not your normal birthday party in January. I have to say Rachael is a great kid with good friends!

Field Trip to Effie Yeaw Nature Center

Ethan's class went to the Effie Yeaw Nature Center in Sacramento. They got to walk through a Maidu Indian Village (replica), visit their museum and go for a nature hike. Very fun and educational field trip.

You would not normally find a tepee in California. Tepees are made of buffalo skin and buffalo are not native to California.

Tree.

Walking back along the trail. We saw many deer, birds and wild turkey on our nature hike.

Go Thunder!!! Stockton Hockey Game.

We went to a Stockton Thunder hockey game Sunday afternoon! Lots of fun!

Cub Scouts

Ethan made a flashlight fork at Cub Scouts! You squeeze the clothespin and the light turns on so he can see what he is picking up on his fork. Very cool!

Happy New Year!

Wow! A year has flown by yet again. We had a great New Years Eve dropping the Add Imagekids off at a friends house for a slumber party while we went out with our friends for dinner and then off to see the Mother Hip's perform. Was that just a couple nights ago? Today Rachael went to the Girl Scout Cookie Rally with her Troop. Fun times tasting cookies. The boys are designing their Pinewood Derby car making it look cool, yet fast.
