Trick or Treat!

It rained off and on while we trick or treated. It was fun night of trick or treating and hanging out with our good friends Indiana Jones and a Hippy.

Pumpkins

Ethan carved the face of his and Allen's on his own. Rachael had a little help from Allen with her idea of a witch hat and stars. It looks like a face, but you also see the witch hat which is cool!

Ethan wasn't very happy about sticking his hand in the slime of the pumpkin, but likes the seeds.

22nd Annual Bridge School Benefit

We went to The 22nd Annual Bridge School Benefit at the Shoreline Amphitheatre this Saturday. We saw Neil Young, Jack Johnson, Norah Jones, Sarah McLauchlan, Wilco, Death Cab For Cutie, Cat Power and Band of Horses perform. We brought the kids and set up our picnic on the lawn. The kids dressed up as Darth Vader (even Darth can't eat dinner with a mask on) and a witch. We heard rumors that a Storm Trooper was nearby... We had a great time!

Ethan's Cub Scout Den went to a pumpkin patch Sunday afternoon. Here we are on the hayride.

Classroom Projects

Ethan presented his first "book in a bag". He put items relevent to his book inside the bag to pull out while he summarized the book for the class. Great Job Ethan!

Rachael's "California Cookie" project. We baked a cookie in the shape of California. She frosted the different regions and added chocolate chip mountains. The kisses are the big mountains (Shasta, Whitney, Lassen). The red hot is Sacramento. Looks like we live more in the central valley based on where she put it. :) It was a yummy project.
